As the poetry cluster, we have written many different forms of poems based on adapted tales each child has written. We had the opportunity to work with the middle school art teacher, Ms. Lisa Thompson, and her students to make our own paper! Each child made a very special piece of paper out of Pulp Mulberry. They published the poem they were most proud of on that paper.
We also wrote a poem together about the paper making process:
Paper Making by Aseel, Duke, Eli, Zoe, Maartje, Emma (read to the beat of "We Will Rock You")
*Boom, boom, slide
Boom, boom, slide
Paper, paper
Making
Making *
We keep smashing
The pulp
In unison*
We will, we will
Tear you
Apart*
Scoop it in the
mold
And deckle*
If you make a
Mistake
Just "kiss off"*
Pump, pump up the
Jack
Hydraulic*
Brush, brush, brush, brush
On the
Window*
Paper, paper
