Check out these three students recorded narrations. Each of these students recorded a reading of the adaptation story s/he wrote. Then s/he added music and sound effects to make the story come to life!
https://sites.google.com/a/lincoln.edu.gh/sound-effect-cluster/ Last Friday, we shared our learning from out last unit of inquiry: How We Express Ourselves. Our central idea was: Stories have common elements and are shared in many ways. About the process...Each child chose a traditional tale to adapt into his/her own version. In a cluster group, each child represented his/her adapted tale (or adaptation written as a group) with another art form. The program had a 'festival' feeling, as there were different events happening at the same time. In addition to the presentation by each cluster group, each child's adapted tale was displayed on his/her table spot inside his/her classroom. The rain caused a slight change in our plans, but it was a beautiful event and a wonderful way for students to share their learning! ...went from a pool party, to a field party, to a rained out party under the roof of the bleachers. But, we all made the best of it!
