The Purpose of Home Learning
Home learning is to rehearse and enhance student learning. It
fosters time management skills, appropriate study habits and
responsibility. It encourages the students to utilize materials
and resources available in the home that are unavailable in
school, such as primary sources in the form of older relatives,
or people with different life experiences.

Home Learning Expectations
Students will be given home learning Monday - Thursday throughout the year. The home learning should take approximately 30 minutes with an additional 20 minutes of reading. Students will record their home learning each day in their Weekly Planner. It is recommended that parents check Weekly Planners each day to ensure their child is managing her/his home learning adequately. Home learning is meant to help foster self-management skills, however this is a learning process and additional support may be needed! Any loose papers or forms should be put into their Home Learning Folder. It is best if students take ownership and responsibility of their Weekly Planners and home learning - packing their own back packs each night. However, reminders are helpful! Home learning is encouraged to be turned in each day. All assignments are due by Friday.
